Teaching and Bird Refuges on P-Days

1.How is the friendship with Elder Garner going?
2.The kids want to know how many is in his family?
3.So did you pick up all your packages at the mission home and when will be the next time that you can see if your last package came to you?

1.Elder Garner is really cool. he is a pretty easy going guy
2. He has 2 brothers and 1 sister
3.I still havn't gotten a chance to pick up mail recently but last time i checked it still wasn't there. so i will keep trying and we might go see this next monday if we can.

Well this week hasn't been two eventfull. but i have learnd alot. i have been trying to write down somthing in my planner every day, that will help me to be a better missionary. we have been haveing alot of little experiences to help us to learn more of what we can to be purpose driven and i have been trying very hard to apply it all to the work. IT 's very hard sometimes because people can be very frustrating and not so dependable. but things have picked up alot around here because we have been trying to be as efective as we can.
well today is tuesday as you might notice, and we are emailing today because our p-day time got messed up due to lack of smart planning on our districts part. but we did have a fun p-day yesterday. we went to a bird park where they had all sorts of birds and things from all over south africa and other places in the world. My favorite bird was the tucan, but those live where Will is so i am lucky to have seen one here. I'll try to send some pictures but don't be disapointed if you get them next week because i might run out of time here.
I love everybody and would strongly engourage everyone to read the scriptures everyday and always apply what you learn from them.

Sorry for the shortness of this e-mail, but i love everyone just the same.

Elder Jones

The missionary with the green and Dark blue strip tie and bird on shoulder and arm is our very own Elder Tyrell Jones.

Time! Whats That?

I loved it when I was a kid and I had all the time in the world. About the time I came close to the age of my 20s it started to fly by. I remember thinking maybe I wouldn't have enough time to do all that I wanted to do. Then as the my children entered my life I felt time speed up even faster. I couldn't catch all the moments and never had a enough time to get the house cleaned all the way to perfection. Then there came the time when our youngest had to stay and grow up in the hospital. Time seemed to drag on and on at the slowest rate I have ever felt in all of my life at that time. Yet time was also flying by outside of the hospital as I viewed each child and the stages that they were in. One with only two years of high school left. One going into young women's and rapidly maturing. One who's age of baptism rushed up in the middle of all that slow dragging time.
After all that speeding up and slowing down I have decided that time is what you make it and so make the most of it even if it means that the floor and laundry waits for a min or two cause the kids will soon be gone and then there will hardly be any laundry or marks on the wall. All you will have is some memories and pictures to view back through that window called time.

Me taking some time to to snap a sunset outside of my front door and a morning snowstorm on the branches by my house. An old wheel made into a new fence catches the snow held timless in a photo now.

Adventures of Being AN LDS Elder in Africa

1.One of the mission Moms said she thought that you should be emailing the Pres on your pdays anyway? True not true.
2.Do you ever remember a manti wrestler named Mat Olsen? Funny his Grandpa served in Johannesburg and we met them last night at the Jr. high tournament. He says watch for a Loise Bell from Boksburg she is about 85 she joined in 1955 by Dick Olsen that's the grandpa. Mat is just getting his papers in now.
3. Watch for Elder Beck well really he is going to Cape town that is the son of Dads hospital administrator Boss. Do they ever really tell their first names to you or are you really always only Elder ____? I do hope you write their name down somewhere for your records.
4.Have you seen lots of sickness that you could use your priesthood powers on yet?
5.What is that bug in the pic about, are they all huge like that and crawl all over or are they hard to find?
6.Did you find Kabelo again or did he really move away?
7.Did you get the third package with toothpaste in it?
8.As of right now would you want to return to your land of mission after your mission to 1live, 2work or 3serve again and which one would it be.
9.Z. wants to see some more pictures of you but do not send us the pictures that you have saved unless you have two cds made. Do you need another sd card?
10.How many people total have you brought to the waters of baptism so far now?
11. Do you ever wish we sent snail mail to you written by hand?
12. Do you want me to type the copy of Elder Martins letter to you that he sent to our family about what it was like to train an awesome son like you? By the way you really make our family proud.
13. Do you want us to add any of those friends to facebook C. wants to know, for some it might be the only way they would know how to catch up with you.
14. If I write too long a letter is that bad for the amount of time you have to respond?
15. Did you send a postcard to the flying U?
Missionary answers for the week!
Before I E-mail the answers to all of the questions and stuff I just want to say Happy Birthday to Nana and Justin. I hope that it was a good one.
Try to read ALMA 39 A Very Good Chapter to remember always.
1.We Normally just send president Poulsen weekly letters, when we get a chance. There are over 200 Missionaries in jo’burg so that would be a lot of e-mails.
2. I don’t really remember many of the peoples names. Just faces
3. I probably won’t see elder beck, because they leave straight from the MTC to there missions. And yeah I know the other elders names but we just call each other elder.
4. I have seen quite a few sick people, but nothing extremely out of the ordinary.
5. I have no clue what that bug was, it was just this freaky grasshopper thing we found on P-day
6. Kabelo moved
7. I only got two packages, but I got the toothpaste.
8. I would probably just come to visit. Not very good jobs here.
9.-
10. I have only still brought 7 so far, but we are having a baptisim in feb
11. mail is nice
12. No thanks, that’s for you
13. I’ll get back next week
14. Sometimes
15. not yet

Well as for mission work Things have been going much better. We now have people to teach who are not cancelling on our appointments and we have been finding a lot of cool new people to teach as well. The only Problem is that not many have been coming to church, even though we have invited and committed and urged them in as many ways as we can think to do so. Do you have any good ideas for getting them to church dad?
Sorry, this E-mail is going to be a bit short, because the internet has been being slow, but I wan’t to at least give everybody the story of the week:
I sent som pics that you can look at about this story.
Well yesterday, we were all on our way to our appointments after having luch with some members During a huge rainstorm, When suddenly we got to quite a block in the road. There were some cars parked in our way and everyone was out of there car taking pictures and looking at this incredible sight. Not far from our Flat, a wall had broken down due to the amount of water that was pushing against it. And because of this there was a river of water flowing through the road and unfortunanly for the first guy to pass that way, was the mans car stuck in water up to the windows. We were all trying to figure out what to do, and after a while of thinking the only conclusion was that we needed to push the car out. As you can hopefully see, in the picture, Elder Walgamott is helping them push the car out of the water. Elder Mcombs and myself wanted to help as well, but we were not fast enough to take off our ties and empty our pockets before they had the car out of the water. In any case it was pretty intense and it made us very late to some of our appointments, but everything worked out in the end.

Hot car for the benefit of little Brothers and what a sad day for the other car.

Sargent Steam Cleaner- Get It VERY clean!!!

JamiBingham@sargentstream.com

This will be the craziest blog I have ever done. I will totally expose myself to the public eye of criticism. But who cares it is not looking like this now. That Sergeant Steam Cleaner is the tops and I want one of my very own. My Sis let me barrow her steam cleaner because I watched her one day clean her toilet without touching it and it was so pretty, just like NEW! You see I have 6 (well 7 one is aim trained) BOYS that cannot aim worth a darn and it shows. With the Sergeant Steam Cleaner I can fix that without even having to touch the yucky thing and it’s so pretty when it’s done.
I went slightly crazy then doing the slat spots between my cute decorator fence that sits by my tub. The water splashes out and the dust settles and I try and try but never get it all the way clean, not any more it looks fabulous and that was ten years of fighting a losing battle. Now you can’t even tell that it’s been like that this many years later. Well I will only list all the other spots I went crazy over.
Microwave: Crazy boys always splatter and never stick lids on.
Fridge: That was the fastest cleanup under the sun.
Hardwood floor: You must triple the clothes & add a microfiber cloth too to keep from pulling the finish off.
Windows: Wow never die over them again.
Bed: Mattress that the naughty BOY dog peed on.
You name the thing it can clean it, well you do need to careful of painted walls but that’s about all.
NOT CLEAN SLATS BETWEEN

CLEAN AFTER 10 YEAR BATTLE.

If you want one post a note or email her at JamiBingham@sgtsteam.com or JamiBingham@sargentstream.comShe will even show you a demo. I can't wait to get my own!

Johannesburg Dog Finnaly gets Elder Tyrell.

1. They alot us about R1,000 every 4 weeks
2.Yeah the amont is fine. As long as your smart with it.
3. I don't really know if you can compare them. There are less rooms.
4. Elder Garner is from sugar city Idaho. but he has lived in texas as well.
5. Not really. There to Expensive to buy.
6.My companion has been out for 11 months.
7. I havn't stood in the water with anyone yet. IT's encouraged to find members of the ward, prefferably, fellowshipers to do that.
8. Elder Walgamott is from Magna, Elder Mcombs is from, Fruit Heights, and I am from good old sevier.
9.Nope but i give lots of talks to investigators.
10. Not really. Members make some pretty good stuff around here. But interesting story. I'm not sure if i told you or not but a few days before Elder Martin was leaving, an investigator made Chiken feet for us and we ate that. There wasn't much to eat but it didn't tast horrible. And we had chiken hearts. That was good. Yesterday, Sister nombeko, a recent convert has been feeding us dinner on sunday's gave us a plate of food that looked a little bit strange, but familiar. After i looked at it for a minute i realized that it was a dish called mallamogodu (Tripe) Or (Intestines) after figuring out what it was, I was a little bit skeptical as to whether i was going to be able to eat it or not. Finally Sister Nombeko said "Just eat it. It's nice". So i just dug in. After i put the first bite in my mouth i realized that it acctually wasn't that bad, but Nombeko said you have to prepare it right. I'm going to have to get a picture of some to send to you sometime. Although it wasn't bad, I don't know if i can eat to much of it, because the thought still gets me a little bit.
Well as for missionary work. things have still been a bit slow because i think everyone is still in the holiday mood. So almost every appointment we have set this last week has Cancelled on us or wern't there when we showed up. So it's been a bit frustrating, but it has made way for us to be able to meet lots of new people due to the tracting we have been doing. This week also we had mission tour, where one of the seventy came to speak to us. Elder Wattson came and he talked about alot of things that we need to keep records of, especially in our journal's he said that the scriptures are journals of the prophets and they are permanant records of truth. He said the records we keep on our missions will also be records of those we have baptized and the personal revelations that we recive. He also said that our names will be in the records of those we baptize. It was a really cool meeting where we learnd alot. And i have records of them in my study journal so it's pretty sweet. So here's another story for you and you will probably laugh mom. On friday we were going to check on a young man that we had only met once before and hadn't been able to contact afterwards. We got there and we found that he wasn't there. so as we turned around there was a dog sitting there looking at us, wich wasn't unusuall because lots of people have dogs. But as soon as we got on our bikes and started to ride away. the dog went nuts and started chasing me and my companion. so as we sped up the dog reached out and got ahold of my shoe and took a big chunk out of the soul. I got my foot away but the dog kept chasing and i just started laughing because my feet were in the air and i couldn't put them down. Finally the dog stopped and wen't back, but it was pretty intense. After all of the time i have been scared of dogs as a kid, finnaly as a missionary one gets ahold of me...Figures.

Well i've got an Idea for family home evening wich i was going to send to c.. But i'm not sure if he's up to it, Being Crippled and all. anyway here it goes.

Read (nephi 3:3, 19-20; 4:15-16; 5:21-22: Mosiah 1:3-7)
Why did Nephi's family need the brass plates?
Why do We need the book of mormon?

Make a list of friends who don't have the Book of mormon, and talk about how you can get them a copy and invite them to church.

After that you can organize FHE however you wan't but that was just a suggestion.

Well i'm out of time. Sorry i didn't get a chance to e-mail everybody, Just remember i still love everybody and i always love e-mails from everyone. I wish i got more from C., J., and M..

Love

Tyrell

1.How do they pay your mission allowance for the month to you?
2. Is the amount covering all that you need?
3. Your apartment looks nicer then your college apartment is that true?
4. Where is Elder Garner from?
5. Do you eat lots of nuts from there, like cashews?
6. How long has your companion been out?
7. So how many people have you baptized as of today. I mean stood in the water with or how does that work do you count even the ones you teach?
8. The other flat-mates where are they from?
9. Have you had to give a talk in sacrament meeting yet?
10.Is there any foods that you are missing as of yet.
Mothers note: HEEEHEEELOL Tyrell was bit by a racoon when he was 10, he even had to protect his little brother in the whole shanangan that occured that day. The end results, he became afraid of Dogs and Cats. He had been the best salesman on the block until this happened. He wouldnt even do the scout food drives to houses where he knew the dogs wouldn't bite. I would tell him when you go on your mission a dog is going to get you if you don't figure out how to get over a fear that wasn't even made by a DOG mind you. So today I am laughing he did get past the fear but there must be just a tiny smell of it on him cause why didn't it get his companion. HAHAHAHAHAHALOLOLOL.

NEW YEARS 2010

1.i'm not sure because i'm not sure who all is requesting me as a friend. if you sent me a list i could tell you.
2.i got some pics but i'm not sure which pic you are talking about.
3.i got two of the packages. The small one with the new testiment and stuff, and the one with the i-pod. but it could come sometime.
4.We just cook stuff for ourself, if we get time, but were not really ever at our flat. Stuff like cheese sandwiches and romen noodles stuff.
5. Not really sure, don't have a scale. But i'm probably about the same if not less. (wishfull thinking)
6. WE played sports and there were some movies we could watch, and later we had a christmas devotional, in wich i got roped into playing a single chime in the song silent night. it was fun
7.Everyone just gets puzad up (drunk) so we don't go out on new years day.
8.ok
9. I'm not really on a spacific chapter. I just study from the chapters i feel are going to help for that day.
10. We haven't done anything with it yet but we are planning on disposing of it some how later today. i sent a pic of it.

sounds like things have been intersting, and i'm not sure if i'm going to be able to e-mail c. so tell him i'm sorry for him, but it sounds kinda funny, and don't die. things have been kind of slow around here because of christmas and new years, and most people are drunk and crazy so we don't go out those days. and i just got a new companion so i have been helping him get used to the area and stuff. his name is Elder Garner. he's pretty cool and l'm getting along with him pretty well so far. Just to Clarify, That big thing i'm eating in one of those pics is called a Kota. It's a townshipsadwich that is really intense. It is a quarter of a loaf of bread and it is stuffed with Chips(french fries) Achaar(pickled mango) and toped with anything that you can probably think of. That one has Paloni and a russian sausage on it. Those things are good but they are a total gut bomb.

so yeah this week has consisted of getting acuainted with Elder garner and finding people to teach because everyone left to their "homes" for the holidays. things should pick up soon though and we will be swamped with appointments.
Ilove you all and keep up the mission work at home.

Love Elder T. Jones

Family Questions for the New Year!
1. should we accept some of the people that are asking to be your friend on face-book like Brent Gail, Jacoys Mom, the kid who was your partner in the acts that you won the blond kid sorry I can not remember his name at the moment. and several girls that must be from college Some are just returned from thier missions?
2. So did you see the pic that we sent to you? we ddi not get any pic from you yet if you sent them last time it did not work.
3. We hope you got our packages all three of them.
4. What do you cook when you cook in your apartment. Do you take turns cooking?
5. Have you lost or gained weight?
6. What did you do at your christmas party for the mission?
7. What is New Years celebrated like there?
8. Jessica is trying to have a new baby girl now as I write this.
9. What chapter are you on now in the Book of Mormon.
10 K. wants to know what you did with your Christmas tree bush?

I rang in the new year in just great style the three little boys were so grouchy that we made them go to bed and then I fell asleep with them, Mc and Dad rang in the year together and the other two were gone. But at 6:00 am all the fire-alarms went off and we could not get them to stop. Dad finally had to take the one that is the main out and disconnect it to make them stop. we all after an hour went back to bed kinda scary because the three little boys didn't even move in their beds.I heard that Bradley Johnson was mugged and they took everything while he was on his mission and thats here in the good old USA.
Wow it really is a new year and it feels like it should be 2009 still. Brother Payne told about how his grandson who is on a mission in Honduras was just called to be the branch President for then last 8 months of his mission. The brethren who did the praying said this foreign name came up in all of their minds after they had prayed about who should take the position. So you never know what you might do when you are called to serve the Lord. Then he had all four of us mothers of the missionaries bear our testimonies. Vanda said that Levi companions is the district leader and so he lives with the Zone leaders and he has had several baptisms. Twila said that Sam will be most likely transfered soon to a new island of the 10 little island that makes up his mission. And that he never wants to have an american companion again because they are not as humble. Katie Mills went to speak spanish and has now ended up in a Philippines branch with a Philippine companion and said she cant understand a thing but loves that she is touching peoples hearts. I was released from the Nursery and put in as a sunbeam teacher with Jeremy so that he will go to class. Its gong to be a challenge as they are very wiggly.
For College news at Snow they are doing West Side Story. Kim Christian said that he is one of the three nephites and so he would always be a part of the Snow College Theater group to Kelsey Killian and Brittany Stull. Therefor he would stuff them when they die and put them in the green room and they would have to be there forever. There haven't been any letters from Wills Mom because they spent christmas in St. George and so I guess they haven't forwarded anything. And I am not sure Devin knows how to forward anything to us yet.
J. had a first video party night with guys and girls. I am not sure if she is going to write to you because she went to a youth fireside tonight and only because two guys that are her friends were going to be there. I wish she wouldn't be so friendly to the guys. Dad said J. could have a party for New Years but it didn't get off the ground very big so she did it Sat. So now she cant say Dad wont let her socialize with boys.
M. had Serria Waters sub when her mom got remarried he said she was very mean. Twila and Ray had three babies blessed today in our ward. And church was changed to the afternoon so it felt like it was an all day church day for us. Arron has a girl, Cami a boy and Nathan a girl. Well I am sure C. told you about his adventure now he is the slowest moving kid you ever saw its actually kinda nice but sad to look at him because he is so unable to move. He better start coughing or he is going to get pneumonia. He wont even let himself sneeze it hurts so bad. We wonder if he is going to go to school tomorrow. He has been sleeping in Z. bed because he can not climb the ladder to get in his. Larami and his wife had a baby girl and they also blessed there baby down in St George today. Have a wonderful week cant wait to hear from you and see if you were transfered hope all your baptisms went through. Have a great week. Love Mom

Hey tyrell
i went cross country sking and then we found a hill and went down hill with all the scouts.
on new years day Me and Dalton were hanging out at toms with Chance sledding tom was pulling us on a truck hood we were doing donuts spinning around then Tom turned the other direction. Then me and Dalton on the Hood spun out in front of the truck. I jumped off the hood and the truck hit my left ribs and Dalton stayed on and went under the truck and out the other side. He turned the other direction to avoid me and then the back hit me. I have bruises all over the left side of my body and a bruised diaphragm and lungs. Its really hard for me to breath and mom is typing this because my left arm dosnt work to lift it up. My ribs are all swolled and bruised. So ya I love you and I might have a green fracture in my ribs. ya so my year rocks s far
