Hey family,
This week has been a pretty good week. last moday after i e-mailed we went to a Lion and Rihno nature reserve, and i got to play with some white tiger and lion cubs. it was so cool. I also got to play with some lion cubs that were a bit older and the had ver sharp claws. one of them latched on to Elder Martin's (my companion) foot, and ripped up his shoe. it was awesome. along with that i got to pet a full grown cheetah... Yeah it was pretty much sweet! any way i will send you pictures when i get a chance to develop some or load them on the computer. So things teaching wise have been going great. We have been teaching lots of lessons and we currently have 9 investigators on date for babtisim and we were able to find 10 new investigators just the other day. It was crazy lucky. we were referd to a family and it turns out that there were like 8 members and they all wanted to listen to the discussions. Things are going good for the mission here in ridgeway. unfortunatly we have had a couple of rough days like yesterday we had to bike an hour from one of our apointments to another and the person cancelled on us that last minute. So the day was frustrating after that. we couldn't find anyone else who would listen to us and none of the members in the area were home so it was rough, but we learn things from everything that happens to us. On a lighter note, earlier yesterday after church we were on our way to teach kabelo to keep the sabath day holy and on our way we met him in the street on his way to buy some ice cream. it was funny because we told him to wait until we taught him and after teaching him he agreed to wait until today to buy ice cream. It was a fun discussion and we laughed alot. any way i hope things are going ok i hear lots of people are sick. anyway that's all for me. the people here are great, the investigators are obediant and the culture here is fun to learn.

P.S. I am not allowed to e-mail my friends so it would be cool if you would forward my e-mails to my friends. O and pleas Pray for Our investigator Sister Eunice. Her daughter and her are in a little bit of danger. They could use those prayers.

SPORTS AND THE JONES BOYS

Z. had his first year playing and loved it. K. liked being the goal guard. C. loves football even though it was a very rough year. M. came out on top winning the championship over all he loves soccer.

Letters to and letters From Africa

it's great to hear that things are going good back at home, and tell J. that's awesome that se is taking an intrest in tech. although i havn't done much of that it was fun what i did do of that. Well as for e-mail's I'm not sure as to wether or not i am alowed to e-mail my friends directly or not so i'm going to have to ask my mission president. All of my flat mates all e-mail their friends that e-mail them so i'm not sure. i was told in the mtc that i can send one big e-mail to my friends but i don't know if that applies here or not.
Tell dad that i think that is going to be my next big project is to read the bible because my compainion is a wiz at the bible and can use it against anyone if he has to. Although that's not the way they told us to go about things it has to be done sometimes.
So how did M. like the book. That is one of the first chapter books i read and i thought it was AWESOME!!!
Hey Dad congrats on being on the #1 surgery team that's awesome!! Keep up the good work, and you have to promise to organize family home evening every week ok, and also don't forget to be a member missionary because the missionaries can't do it all. That goes for everyone.
Anyway I love everybody and keep you in my prayers. Thanks for keeping up on my facebook C. your great and always remember to be diligent in everything you do. Remember to help mom and dad as much as you can even if you don't feel up to it.
Well to talk about what has been going on here this week. it has been great! Except for Saturday that was a little disapointing. Just about everyone of our appointments cancelled on us and on top of that it was pouring rain. IT was kind of funny though because when we went to one of the apointments, we looked in the window and all of the furniture and everything was gone. so apperently they moved. that was kind of funny. Sunday was the best because we had a babtisim which i didn't preform but i taught the young man so that's 1 for me i guess. His name is Junior and he is kind of in a less active family but we are trying to help that. After church and the babtisim we had a luch apointment with a white family and that was delicious. it was a kind of bry i guess. Anyway after that we went to a missionary fireside and i got to talk with one of the elders who was in the mtc with me (Elder, Ramahafarivo). He is stationed in Jo'burg Central and he got mugged the second day. He said it was pretty exciting, but you don't have to worry about me because my area is pretty safe except for a few shady caharacters. Anyway the mission is great the culture isn't super different but you can definatly tell i'm not in utah anymore. O and, Pop i have not eaten to much yet but it is definatly hard to get all of it down because you don't want to be rude. anyway. i'm running out of time so i'll try to answer more questions next week and i love everyone. Remember to read the scriptures and pray as a family as much as you can. anyway that's all so

I will do all the forwards and then you wont have to take all the time to do it k. Besides then we wont double up since Aunt Twila keeps forwarding and so do I to Sam. Some of your friends I know are sending to you so just put PS on the bottom and they will look at our blog and know the answer. Dad laughed about the preacher and said well tell him the best scriptures to study are Mathew through Revelations as that way he will know how to bring the Book of Mormon in because most people believe the bible but not the other until they gain the testimony. He also says by the way those are some of his favorite scriptures because its the story of the Saviors life and his own mission on earth. J. is a nun in the sound of music and Dallas got her to be on the tech crew and she has now decided that she wants to be the tech Pres. her senior year as there has never been a girl one. She apparently loves it and likes to of course be behind the scene.
Keep telling them to read the scriptures and Mc to he just finished a chapter book treasure Island. K. has to get glasses he grew so fast this last summer that he jumped to size 10 clothing and of course is only 8. I looked at your face book an nothing exciting has appeared. Well Eric Baker got married but I don't know it you cared on that one. We have one dear tag left to fill, the power line got partly fixed. The Sevier power company canceled their request to dump the ash in our valley now if they would just quit wanting to even build that would be the end of them. Brylers body finally accepted and they could be back home in a week if everything keeps staying the same calm quiet progress. Kathrin and Josh are seriously dating hate to say it but I TOLD YOU SO. Jer. and Z both love school and
are having a blast. I am now trying to decide if I should get a job or finish the transcription stuff now that I have my free time in the morning. Dads surgery unit just received the highest honor a unit can get and was placed as the best in the state of Utah and also out of 1800 hospitals across the nation placed 5th out of the top 25 in the nation. So he felt pretty successful to be apart of that team. Today is Sunday and the three little boys are all sick with some stupid cough and fever. The biggest news update is that not only are Jathan and Julie having a baby its going to be twins. Not identical, shock there is no history in either side so they are very excited and a bit scared and overwhelmed. Sad news Maykala died, either she was preg and it was tubal and it exploded the tube and she bled to death or colic got her we are not sure because we were in SLC when it happened. J. is going to ride in her first high school rodeo on Halloween night hopefully she will win. That pap stuff is straight corn meal flour you know hope you are working out or your going to weigh tons. Well I cant think of anything else except what are you missing and wish for in a Christmas pkg? You saw what Sam wrote in his note that I forwarded. Have you gotten to meet Elder Steed Dad is wondering and the White AKA Vanilla family are they in your ward there they are my cousins Stephani's friends. That's most likely a huge area to really be asking that question. We all love you very much everyone says keep up the good work and smile be happy and we will be seeing you in a few years.
Hi hows things goin you are in our thoughts and prayers study the scriptures Pray often and learn to love the people. People are not going to care how much you know until they know how much you care about them. Things are going well here its starting to get cold and we just about have all the hay up you keep working hard. It will pay off. Love Dad
Love the Whole Family and mom as the writer:)

Hey 10/12/2009

Well to answer J.'s questions. My companion is from utah and i live in a nicer area right now, but my proselyteing area covers a pretty big area. it has some poor-to mid class places and it has some pretty wealthy comunitys. there isn't really any very very poor areas but you never know if or where i'm going to be transferd in six weeks. As for e-mail's i am allowed to send one big e-mail to every body but i don't think i can do individual e-mail's. the problem is i don't have everyone's e-mail adresses.
so this week has been pretty good. We have been talking to a lot of people and we have been pretty busy with apointments. we have been teaching a girl named jackie and she told us yesterday that she belives everything we have taught her is true so we are going to talk to her about setting a date for babtisim. We currently have 11 people on date for babtisim and i actually don't know all of them. We taught a Young man this week named Elijah who is apperently a pastor for his church and Elder Martin "faile" to tell me that. He was very upset when we talked about jesus christ and Heavenly father as two seperate beings but overall things have been going good and i'm trying to get used to POP. Pop is a food hear that looks like mashed potatos but is actually made out of maze meal. It's very heavy food so it feel's you up really fast and i usually have a hard time eating all of it because it feel's you up so fast, but i'll get used to it because they eat it alot here, and when the members feed you they really fill your plate so...Yeah anyway so it would be great to hear some more about what's been going on in the states and tell jathan and julie congrats for me. Well got to go so...Sharp!

October 8th 2008 Favorite Scripture and More

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well mom sorr i forgot to tell what my favorite scripture is las time i e-mailed. the scripture is 1nephi 3:7. Well it's thursday and we usually don't get to e-mail out here in the field untill monday but my new compainion had broken his arm last monday and didn't get to e-mail so we are being allowed to e-mail today. well yesterday was my first day in the field and it just so turns out that my New companion has the same name as my mtc companion. Elder Martin. I thpught that was really funny. and another crazy thing that has been freaking me out is that he doesn't have driving privlages so i have to drive. I was scared out of my mind driving in a car with the steering wheel on the right side of the car and the car on the left side of the road. Also on my first day we taught two lessons. one lesson was to a 9 year old boy named Junior who is going to be babtized soon. His mom is a slightly inactive member of the church who we are also trying to help reactivate her. they are all wonderfull people and Junior is very smart. we taught them about the ten commandments and his uncle Sipho who is a return missionary helped us teach him. After we taught Junior we had an appointment with a girl named Jackie and her boyfriend Tyron who is a less active member but still goes to chruch. It was the first lession that Jackie had had with the missionaries and it went very well. We taught her the restoration and i'm not going to lie, it was hard but i did good. Jackie promised to read and pray about the book of mormn and Joseph smith. She said she will continue to go to church with her boyfriend and that if she has any questions she will ask us on her next visit. So things are going great and thanks for the scriptures mom they should be very helpfull. Tell the youngsters that i have found some cool stuff that they might like and that when i have some cool stuff for everyone i will try and send it to you guys. Tell Dad and everyone that i love them very much and that you guys should work on saying family prayer as often as you can and try and have family home evening every week. And i was wondering if maybe dad could send me some cool scriptures that he likes as well. that would be great. well i've got to go out and preach the word some more so i'll talk later. Much love
Tyrell

Hey from Africa

Well i was writing this e-mail and i was almost done and the computer wazed out and i lost it so this one might have to be shorter because i'm running out of time.
This week was a great week. We got to teach members of the community yesterday and it was an awesome learning experiance. The first gentleman we taught was a member and he acted as a member while we taught him. It was a great experince because it helped us learn how to really adapt to the person we are teaching. We ended up just discussing how we each felt about the restoration and the importance it has been to us. It was great to hear what the man had to say, being a convert to the church and it helped streangthen my testimony. The second Man we taught was a missionary curently serving in the jo'burg mission. He was a little harder because he drilled us on alot of things that investigators will. He said we did good and that alot of things would come as we learn through out the field. Over all it was a great experiance. As for the rest of the week we did the usuall stuff, district class, Lgm meetinings and learning more about how to teach effectivly. On tuesday we got to go to the temple again and it was great just to have a day that was peacfull and spiritual.
To my family always remember to stay strong in the gospel and say your prayers morning and night. I encourage C. and J. to start reading the scriptures and write down the things that they feel is most important. I love you all and i wish you the best

Elder jones

P.S. Will i'm always glad to hear from you and everyone else. If i didn't get to really say somthing to you I'm sorry and i will try next time. Hopefully by then i will have more time to e-mail because i will be in the field. Stay strong and pray offten. It's important!
